René Vidales,

Program Coordinator, County of San Diego Watershed Protection Program

René is currently a Program Coordinator for the County of San Diego Watershed Protection Program where he oversees the Development Support Group which includes the implementation of the BMP Design Manual and the inventory of private Structural BMPs. He is a Civil Engineer with over two decades of experience in all phases of Land Development including both Private and Public sectors. After the Lilac Fire, René was responsible for the coordination and oversight of the assessments performed in order to install Post-Fire Mitigation BMPs.

Jeremy Fantaroni, QSD, CPESC
Land Use Environmental Planner, County of San Diego Watershed Protection Program

Jeremy is a Land Use Environmental Planner for the County of San Diego Watershed Protection Program in the Development Support Group. He has over 10 years’ experience working on erosion and sediment control along with post-construction Best Management Practices (BMPs).  Jeremy has been a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) since 2009 and became a Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) in 2011.  After the Lilac Fire, Jeremy was responsible for the coordination and oversight for the installation of Post-Fire Mitigation BMPs.

Reynaldo Pellos, CPESC
Land Use Environmental Planner, County of San Diego Watershed Protection Program

Rey is an environmental planner with over 12 years of experience including both Private and Public sectors. While working with a consulting firm, Rey worked in various aspects of stormwater and environmental compliance. Rey is currently a Land Use Environmental Planner for the County of San Diego Watershed Protection Program in the Development Support Group. After the Lilac Fire, Rey was responsible for securing contracts for the installation of BMPs and supervising the crews during the installation.

Mehdi Khalili, P.E., CFM, M.Sc., QSD
Civil Engineer, County of San Diego Flood Control Engineering

Mehdi started his career with 10 years of engineering experience in the private sector working on dams and hydropower plants, hydraulic and hydrological modeling, land development, California Awareness Floodplain Mapping, etc.  In 2013 Mehdi switched to government to quench his passion of serving the public. Mehdi’s public experience includes recycled water, Pure Water San Diego, capital improvement, drainage, stormwater, flood control, etc.  After the Lilac Fire, Mehdi along with many other County staff were responsible for helping affected residents at the Erosion Control Homeowners Assistance Center (ECHAC), conducting site assessments at private properties, and creating erosion control plans for installation of post-fire mitigation BMPs.
