Application and Selection Process: Applications for the Fall 2025 to Spring 2026 FMA College Scholarship Program are available to complete online starting in January 2025. - Applicants must complete an online application on Bold.org. The application and all required attachments for the Scholarship must be received by the application deadline. The highest-ranking candidates, as determined by the selection committee. The recipients will be announced by June 30, 2025.
Required Attachments: The following attachments may be required with the online application. - Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency Status.
- Transcript of cumulative GPA from the prior Fall Semester or its equivalent trimester (2.5 or above)
- Resume listing employment history, as well as awards, achievements, and/or honors
- Response to essay (as described below)
Essay Question: Applicants are to provide an original essay (400-600 words) to respond to the question included in the Application. Examples of past essay questions include: FMA College Scholarship:(EXAMPLE) What do you see as the challenges to reducing the risk and impacts of floods on people and communities today, and how do you believe you can contribute or make a difference in addressing flood issues in the future? James R. Schaaf Civil Engineering Scholarship:(EXAMPLE) Who or what inspired you to pursue a career in civil engineering? How will you use your degree to help the communities that are impacted by floods or other natural disasters?
