FMA Sacramento October Luncheon

TOPIC: “Billions in Federal Funding for Flood Risk Reduction Projects in the Sacramento Region” The Sacramento District of the US Army Corps of Engineers recently received $2.1 billion in Supplemental funds to design and construct flood risk-reduction projects in the Sacramento region.  What work needs to be done and when?  How does this fit into the larger picture of existing Corps work in the Sacramento Region?  What support will the Sacramento District need to accomplish this effort?  This presentation will answer those questions and more. 

SPEAKER:  Cameron Sessions, Supplemental Program Manager – US Army Corps of Engineers.  Cameron Sessions is a Program Manager within the Sacramento District Civil Works Project Management Division.  He is currently assigned as the Acting Program Manager for Supplemental funded projects which includes 5 projects totaling $2.1 billion and focuses on completion of levee and dam construction in the Sacramento area.  Cameron also functions as a Section Chief in Civil Project Management Division covering the Natomas, American River Common Features and West Sacramento Projects. 


SPECIAL EVENT:
 In addition to our monthly speaker program, the Sacramento October luncheon will include the presentation of the 2018 Floodplain Management Association Communications and Outreach Award to Dawn Pimentel, Sacramento County Department of Water Resources.
